When Comic-Con International announced Comic-Con Special Edition (the November 26-28, 2021 convention that we affectionately call SDCC-lite), they mentioned that they were exploring an option for those who wanted to transfer their San Diego Comic-Con badge to the November convention.
They have now provided an update, and more importantly: if you are a holder of a Comic-Con 2020 badge (and since the convention did not take place, that badge was then postponed until 2021, which does not didn’t happen either… but you should get the idea) and want to attend San Diego Comic-Con in the summer of July 2022, you don’t have to do anything! Your badge will automatically be transferred next summer.
Only if you want to either request a refund or transfer your badge to the Comic-Con Special Edition in November, do you need to take any additional steps. Again, if you don’t want to give up your Golden Ticket for next summer, you don’t have to do anything at all.
Important to note: Transferring your badge in November means that you forfeit your sold-out San Diego Comic-Con 2022 ticket and likely your chance to revert to registering for San Diego Comic-Con 2023. This no. is not a decision to be taken lightly. If you want to attend the month of November and Next summer, we recommend that you keep your badge for SDCC 2022 (which means you don’t do anything now) and just purchase a regular badge for the November con when they go on sale at a later date. .
Now, on the details if you want to forfeit your Golden Ticket to San Diego Comic-Con 2022: If you want to request a refund, you can do so by May 1, 2022 here.
