The Arewa Youth Assembly has called on prominent Nigerians and business tycoons to join the race to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.
Arewa youth made the call in a statement titled “Private Sector Actors to Join the 2023 Presidential Race” and jointly signed by its President, Mohammed Danlami and National Registrar, Desmond Minakaro.
The group wondered why those who work in the private sector and those who have built a career would leave the management of the country to unqualified individuals.
According to the Arewa Youths, people like Aliko Dangote, Femi Otedola, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Mike Adenuga among others are set to save Nigeria from its current state by contesting the 2023 elections.
Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari has revealed that Olujonwo, son of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has pledged to support Yemi Osinbajo if he joins the presidential race.
Naija News reports that this was announced in a Facebook post on Saturday by Buhari’s special adviser on political issues, Babafemi Ojudu.
Ojodu, who works in the vice president’s office, revealed that Olujonwo visited him on Friday to register his wish for Osinbajo to join the 2023 race to succeed President Buhari.
He revealed that Obasanjo’s son had pledged to join Osinbajo’s campaign team if he decided to announce his presidential ambition.
Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has insisted the North will produce President Muhammadu Buhari’s successor in the 2023 elections.
Naija News reports that the governor of Bauchi revealed this when a contact and consultation committee he set up for his presidential ambitions delivered their report to him on Friday.
According to Bala Mohammed, those pushing for the transfer of power to the south are those of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and not the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has reviewed bank charges and tariffs, including ATM maintenance fees; Electronic fund transfers and group payments.
This has been disclosed in the new “Guide to Fees Charged by Other Financial and Non-Financial Institutions” from the Central Bank of Nigeria.
According to the apex bank, the directive applies to fees charged by banks other financial and non-financial institutions under their license or regulation.

Ogun State Police Command arrested teenagers in Oke Aregbe neighborhood in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, after they were caught burning a girl’s head .
It was established that the girl was in a relationship with one of them before being killed for a money ritual.
Community security guard Segun Adewusi observed in the early hours of Saturday as the boys burned something suspected to be a human head in a local pot on the road.
Adewusi immediately contacted police from Adatan station, who came to the scene to arrest three of the boys, while one of them fled before the police arrived.
